Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there who against all odds are holding their families together and taking care of their child(ren)in the most phenomenal way!
I salute and respect you simply because the act of mothering did not come with any handbook and we make mistakes and beat ourselves up but we have the courage to wake up the next morning with God’s good grace and do it all over again and hopefully will get it right that day and the next!

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers who assume the duties and responsibilities of the absent father and still has the grace and strength to be soft and tender when they are needed to be.

Happy Mothers Day to all the biological, grandmothers, surrogates, adopted, aunts, cousins, neighbours and friends who assume the duties of a mother just because the need is there and their hearts are big and generous.

Last but not least, Happy “Mothers” Day to all the men who stepped up to the plate and ‘mother’ their children when ‘mommy’ wasn’t available or capable of doing so.

Thank you, even though we know it’s a thankless job, but as difficult and as frustrating as it is, I wouldn’t give it up for the world because my life is so much richer for the experience of being a mother.
